Well, it's no secret that it sure has been a roller coaster ride for Ronnie Radke and his musical career. From band struggles with Escape the Fate to his own personal life struggles, Ronnie has almost seen it all I'm sure. Ronnie and his newest band Falling In Reverse (est. 2009) seem to have been making it strong since the beginning of 2011. Members include Ronnie Radke, Jacky Vincent, Derek Jones, Ron Ficcaro, and Ryan Seaman. That same year they released a studio album titled The Drug in Me Is You. The following summer (2012) they headlined the Vans Warped Tour. Every show that summer their fan base seemed to show up in the masses and helped the record reach the spot of #19 on the US Billboard 200.
Just recently, they released a new video and single titled, "Alone," that will be featured on their next studio album, Fashionably Late, available this summer, June 18th. After listening to/watching this video.. I am still not sure how I feel about this. Now I will be honest, I have never been a huge fan or known a whole lot about this band. It had to have been hard to not know what has been going with this group over the past year with their covers on Alternative Press (I am a subscriber) and attending Warped Tour. I can say it is different, which is always a great thing for this scene of music. It can be hard for bands to try something new with the music itself all while trying to keep their old fans, while gaining new ones. It is something new, to say the least... and I can't help but respect that. I am a bit confused as to what is happening in this video if I am going to be honest. It starts out as a normal hip-hop or rap video would, and stayed that way the whole way through. Black and white everything, suits and glasses, glam cars, glam guitars, flashy lights and a girl rolling on the floor (which isn's too far from other Falling In Reverse videos I suppose...). Ronnie goes from rapping, to singing the chorus, screaming, using auto-tune here and there, and the band playing breakdowns all in one song. After hearing this song, I am now curious as to what the whole album will sound like. Are we going to be seeing a whole other side to Falling In Reverse?
Check out the video and let me know what you guys are thinking... I would love to hear your opinions/thoughts.
After watching that.. you must admit it is a little, just a little different from their first single off their last album "The Drug in Me Is You."
