If you are a Cassadee Pope fan, then I am sure you have been following along with NBC's The Voice. Here is another weekly update on the former Hey Monday lead singer while she is competing and performing to be named The Voice of 2012. Each week this girl continues to get better, if that is even possible for how amazing she already is! She has proven to America by this time that there is nothing she can't do.
For this weeks competition, the remaining final three performed their songs with the hope of being named The Voice. To start off the night, Cassadee revisited one of her earlier performances of"Over You," performed by Miranda Lambert and co-written with her mentor Blake Shelton. She once again nailed this song and blew away all of the judges. She has truly proved that she is meant to be in the top three of this competition. She looked absolutely stunning tonight while performing, too. She had on a mermaid style dress covered in mirrors. The performance was calm and simple, which was perfect for this song.
Judge Christina Aguilera started by commenting, "you look stunning." She then had nothing but compliments for Cassadee by saying, "I'm so enamored by your whole presence, your stage presence.. You give it such heart and such great emotion. Your voice can completely sing anything, so sky is the limit for you." Which I could not agree with more. Adam Levine then said, "the coolest thing I've noticed about your voice and over time is that you have evolved your voice so much, it's finely tuned and so strong." I think that each week, Cassadee has come out even stronger than week before. I didn't even think it was possible for her to be even more strong than the week before but with this performance she definitely was. To finish, her mentor Blake Shelton said, "sitting here watching the song always seems appropriate. America's heart is heavy and it's all about healing. It was a great moment. Somehow music starts the healing, thats what music can do and does do." He ended with, "Gosh dang it cassadee you amaze me." If Cassadee isn't amazing the rest of America, then I don't know what else she can do to win this country over.
For her second performance, she did a collaboration with Blake performing Sheryl Crow'sSteve McQueen. I absolutely loved this performance. This was a perfect song for Cassadee to rock out to. She was also perfectly dressed for this song with just a simple flannel and jeans. Blake accompanied her on his guitar as well. This was probably by favorite performance of the night.
As for her final performance, and the final performance of the night, she chose another country song,"Cry" by Faith Hill. I was completely blown away this performance. She gave it her all with this song. She hit every single note, and all the notes held out never fell flat. Her voice was powerful, probably the most it has been throughout this whole journey. Every single word she sang I believed and could feel her emotion the whole through. She once again got a standing ovation from her mentor Blake Shelton. Judge Adam Levine said, "you accomplished everything I was really hoping you would accomplish. You did an amazing job." For the final comments her mentor said, "I don't know what more I can say. For every great moment you have had on this show, and you have had a lot of them, I have never heard you sing as good as you have tonight, congratulations." Blake and I seem to have been on the same page tonight. I couldn't agree more with not only everything he has said, but all of the judges as well.
